FORMBOX STARTER KIT

An educational set of of domestic objects that can be vacuum formed & cast from, while teaching you the fundamental lessons in vacuum forming.

I was approached by Mayku to design a range of vacuum form-able objects, to be sold as part of their desktop vacuum forming machine, the Formbox. The Formbox Starter Kit teaches you how to create a Phone Stand, an Egg Cup & a 3D hologram creator.

Our approach was to design each object as a visual cue, to teach key features of vacuum forming - ‘Suction’, ‘ Draft Angles’ and ‘Webbing’ - to young children or experienced makers. The Formbox & Starter Kit have now sold over 4,000 units worldwide, and are being used by NASA, Nike and Nestle.
